(BS Marine Geology/Oceanographic Technology, Lamar University) Mr. Stephens has been employed in the environmental industry for 16 years and is currently serving as president of SCS Environmental Consultants, Inc. His environmental expertise has served major corporations (Fortune 500 Companies), private entities and state/EPA regulated facilities. His work experience includes hundreds of projects that involved environmental assessments (Phase I ESAs and Phase II Subsurface Investigations) on commercial, residential and industrial properties of which were regulated by state and federal authorities such as the Texas Commission Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Specific tasks include soil and groundwater remediation, subsurface sampling, regulatory compliance, audits, risk based corrective action (RBCA), groundwater modeling, etc. Mr. Stephens is registered as TCEQ Corrective Action Project Manager (CAPM License Number: 215), Corrective Action Specialist (CAPM License Number: 00798) and State of Texas Licensed Water Well Driller (54288M) and is currently supervising corrective action on more than 60 Leaking Petroleum Storage Tank facilities throughout the State of Texas. Conducts microbial investigations of both residential and commercial buildings that include IAQ testing and mold abatement protocol designs. Mr. Stephens is currently certified by the American Indoor Air Quaility (AmIAQ) Council as a Mold Remediation Supervisor (CMRS) and and Microbial Consultant (CMC) and has two years of Indoor Air Quality testing and protocol design experience. Mr. Stephens is also licensed by the Texas Health Department to conduct lead-based paint sampling.
